International Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media
The Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media is 100% coursework based and gives individuals the valuable opportunity to build a specialist portfolio. It’s aimed at those who want a career in the creative industries or those who wish to go to university. Students can specialise in a number of disciplines such as graphic design, illustration & animation, fashion & textiles, fine art, photography, 3D Design, architecture or interior design etc.
Entry requirements:
* 5 GCSE’s one of which is Art grade 4 or above (mandatory) + English and Maths
* International equivalent
* Mature students can gain entry via a strong portfolio of work
Mallorca Art School has a wonderful art studio space in central Palma where students can work with guided tuition from a leading specialist in the field. In class learning is also supported by additional guidance online via OCAD who can offer a wide range of online demonstrations and tasks along with regular feedback. This 16+ course can be achieved over 1 year (FT) or 2 years (PT). The hybrid model of learning allows students the flexibility of practical studio learning and online tuition. Studying the course part time is ideal for students who are either working or who are studying additional A Levels.
Progression:
On successful completion of the course students will achieve the equivalent of 2 A Levels grade A* or 3 grade B’s in terms of UCAS points. The qualification is identical to a Level 3 Foundation studied in the UK offering a maximum of 112 UCAS points allowing students access to UK and most EU universities. For entry to higher end universities we recommend supplementing the course with at least one additional A Level if under 18 years of age.
Level 2 Certificate in Art and Design (IGCSE Art Equivalent)
The Level 2 Art and Design Course is equivalent to 1 IGCSE in Art grades 9 to 4. This exciting course has a practical focus and is 100% coursework based and is assessed online by an examination board officer. Students develop their knowledge and understanding of Art as a discipline building confidence to explore a range of creative techniques and ideas building a portfolio for progression onto Level 3. Learning is via a hybrid model of practical studio work and online tuition and guidance. The course can be completed in two years or as a one year intensive. The course provides a natural progression onto the Level 3 Foundation Diploma.
